Welcome to Gulliver's Books!

David Hollingsworth, Owner I opened Gulliver's Books in Fairbanks in 1985 when a friend suggested the town could use a good bookstore. Gulliver's has grown and prospered since then.

We started as just a used book store, but within a few years began to sell new books too. We opened the Second Story Cafe in 1997 with the idea that good coffee and fresh food would be the perfect complement to great books.

We hope you enjoy your shopping experience at Gulliver's Books. We aim to be your friendly and knowledgeable local source for all your book needs.

The Crew
 

Maria, General Manager:
Maria has been general manager at Gulliver's Books for the past 12 years. Many people don't know she works here because she's usually chained to her desk.

She makes sure all aspects of the store run smoothly, does the buying and the most difficult & impossible task at Gulliver's - keeping track of David H.
 

Annie , Office Assistant:
A certified book addict, Annie has been working at Gulliver's since she moved to Fairbanks in 2005. Like Maria, she is usually chained to her desk in the office.
  Sarah, Manager, Second Story Cafe:
We aim to feed!! We use only the freshest ingredients and do our best to cater to vegetarian, vegan and those with special dietary needs. We try to provide a comfortable low-key atmosphere whether you're in for coffee, lunch or just to play a board game. Come on by! Try the soup! Check out the free Wi-Fi!
